GPL XMPP RTC IM & VOIP is GR8

I’ve been messing around with openfire this weekend, it’s a XMPP RTC IM server or for those of you who haven’t been swimming in the alphabet soup for years, a Instant Messaging server that uses the open XMPP protocol. The server can be a proxy for Windows Live Messenger (aka MSN Messenger), AIM, Yahoo, Google Talk and the rest and can do VOIP. It’s really cool, a completely useless waste of CPU cycles for me, but cool nonetheless & good to know about for secure business collaboration.
