Genesis Energy has launched a virtual city on-line game where students can develop their own cities and compete against other students and schools.

The company has developed a web-based game called ElectroCity which sees players name their very own town and work towards a balance of sustainable energy, city growth and profit. Players have 150 turns to create a city, generate revenue, build power generation and manage the resulting environmental impact while keeping their citizens happy.

Schools that have registered to play ElectroCity are entered into a competition where the highest scoring student wins $10,000 worth of HP technology equipment for their school. There is an online leader board for students to keep track of their town’s score and to compare their rating with other towns.
